What does it mean to be human?

What does it mean to be human now, and what it meant in the 19th century?
Empathy, the ability to invent, and the ability to develop, is what makes us unique. We learn from the past, and we have a desire to become more intelligent. Being a human now, you  should be educated, and be able to make a living. Enjoy life, and spend time with your family. Mistakes are allowed, just make sure you learn something from it.

Today, humans complain about everything, i guess it's because we're too used to the life of 21th century. When your  internet broke down, you might be all sulky about it and even say "stupid computer"; not realizing that when it does connect, when you were able to connect to the world by just simply using this machine in front of you, you didn't appreciate, like all these is suppose to be done for you.

To people from the 19th century, it's really not that different, in my opinion, things were just simpler but life was tougher. There is no doubt that techonology and science today make our lives much easier, which results in lazier people. We rely on techonology too much. Back then, when water doesn't come out of the faucet endlessly, food can't be heated by pressing a few buttons, and people can't be entertained by flipping through the channels on TV, people were happier.
